Chinese Woman Had A Heart Attack Because Her Son Didn't Understand His Homework
The poor woman almost died after losing her temper.
Ms. Wang, a 36-year-old mother was helping her son with her math homework. The boy is in the third grade elementary school and was having a hard time understanding the math problem he was given.
"I tried to explain it many times. But he still can't answer correctly. I started getting angry and I felt like blowing up. Suddenly, I felt flustered and out of breath. I quickly called my husband and asked him to take me to the hospital."
The doctor who saw her said Ms. Wang had a myocardial infarction (heart attack) due to emotional reasons. he added that is she hadn't been rushed to the hospital, she would have died from cardiac arrest.
"This tends to happen to younger parents. If it's not because of an unbalanced diet, then it is caused by psychological emotions. Most patients who have this problem are young mothers," the doctor said.
This wasn't the first time the woman lost her temper. Ms. Wang said she often gets angry with her kids due to their academic difficulties, but she never thought things would escalate like this.
Psychologists advise parents to practice emotional balance when teaching schoolwork to their kids, as being too emotional can harm both sides. Not only it can affect your health, but it will cause them a lot of pressure which will have an impact on their development.
