10 Awesome Tips For Packing Your Suitcase
Ready for that vacation? Here are 10 tips to pack your suitcase like a boss!
1. Instead of stacking your clothes, roll them up.
This way you will save some space and prevent your clothes from creasing.
2. Use vacuum compression bags.
They are great for packing bulky things, like jackets or the kids' toys and they'll save you a lot of space.
3. Apply the "pyramid" principle.
First, arrange your shoes along the suitcase walls. Then, pack the large clothes, like pants or coats, without rolling them up. Add the rest of your things, all rolled up, with the highly-creasable items on top. Next, pack your cosmetics, accessories, documents and fragile objects and wrap everything with the clothes on the second layer.
4. Leave your umbrella out.
Leave your umbrella at home and pack a raincoat instead. You can get a few disposable raincoats and once the clouds are gone, just throw them away.
5. Pack travel-size cosmetics.
Sure, you need shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, face cream, sunscreen, perfume, body mist and many other things and you can fit them all in your suitcase if you get them in travel size.
6. Pack small things the right way.
Small things like USB memory sticks, pocketbooks, hairpins, jewelry, socks, sunglasses can be packed inside shoes, cosmetic boxes, pillboxes, or suitcase pockets.
7. Use coat hangers.
Your classic shirts, business suits, tuxedos, and cocktail dresses are better transported on hangers, inside holdalls.
8. Don't pack your whole medicine cabinet.
Choose only the essential drugs and don't pack more than one pill sheet of each kind of medicine.
9. Don't leave empty spaces.
Because if you do, your clothes may become seriously creased. If you're planning to leave some space for the souvenirs, fill it with some crumpled paper until you get there.
10. Only take the things you need.
Forget about "Just in case I'll need to.." and only pack the things you will really need. Hairdryer? They probably have one at the hotel. Straw hat? They sell those on the beach.
