1. We are unique.
The fingerprint is not the only part of our body that's one of a kind. Each person has a distinctive tongue print, set of teeth and voice, just as unique as the fingerprints.
2. Why are teenagers so complicated?
Adolescence is a nasty phase with emotional discomfort, indifference, moodiness and poor decisions. This happens because puberty reshapes our brains and as the regions in the brain mature, there are many behavioral consequences.
3. Stress makes you gain weight.
When you are dealing with stress, you crave snacks that are rich in carbohydrates. While they calm your stress hormones, by eating too many carbs, you'll gain weight fast. Moreover, stressful circumstances often lead to insomnia and sleep deprivation also causes weight gain.
4. Laughing is therapeutic.
Laughter increases your blood flow, it helps relieve stress and it boosts your immune system. Besides, a good laugh triggers the release of endorphins, which help relieve pain.
5. The skin is our largest organ.
All the skin on your body has a total area of about 22 square feet (2 square meters) and weighs about 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms).
6. Sex cures headaches.
Sex triggers the release of endorphins which induce the pleasure, but also act as painkillers. Sex decreases pains such as headaches or menstrual cramps, it reduces stress and it's good for your heart. Studies have shown that frequent intercourse lowers the chances of a heart attack.
7. We don't really need all the organs.
While there are some organs we really can't live without, we also have some that are completely unnecessary, like the male nipples, the appendix, the tailbone, the wisdom teeth or the body hair. The goosebumps we sometimes get are caused by some tiny muscles called "Arrector pili", which make the hairs erect when they contract. They are useful for some mammals because they make the animals look more intimidating, but they're completely useless for humans.
8. Some people have more ribs.
Most of the humans have 12 sets of ribs, but 8% of us have an extra set, like the chimpanzees or the gorillas.
9. The eyes really are the window to your soul.
If you're secretly attracted to someone, make sure you wear sunglasses, because your eyes can reveal when you are in love. Not because you can't stop staring at them, but because your pupils dilate when you are attracted to someone.
