A Christmas miracle: Snow in Sahara

Some kid in the small town of Ain Sefra, Algeria, prayed for snow, and Santa Claus made his wish come true. That's the version we're going with, anyway.

Christmas miracle or not,  for the first time in 37 years yesterday it snowed in the Sahara Desert. The small town also known as “The Gateway to the Desert” was covered in snow for the first time since February 1979.

Thankfully, photographer Karim Bouchetata was there to capture the rare phenomenon in these unique pictures.
