Keanu Reeves Walked The Red Carpet With His Girlfriend For The First Time
For the first time in 20 years, Keanu Reeves walked the red carpet with his girlfriend.
Many women will sigh to find out that Keanu Reeves, one of the best people at Hollywood and on Earth, is taken. Keanu Reeves walked out on the red carpet holding hands with a lady, artist Alexandra Grant.
The 55-year-old actor has been linked to other celebrities, but his most well-known relationship was with the late Jennifer Syme. However, on November 3, he showed up holding hands with the 46-year-old artist, at the LACMA Art + Film Gala Presented By Gucci, in Los Angeles.
This was their first official outing, but the two have known each other for quite some time. They have worked together in 2011 on Keanu's first book, 'Ode to Happiness', and in 2016, on his book 'Shadows', which were both illustrated by Grant.
Then, they founded X Artists' Books together, which focuses on publishing 'thoughtful, high-quality, artist-centered books that fit within and between genres'.
His last publicly-known girlfriend was Jennifer Syme, who Reeves met five years after the death of his best friend River Phoenix in 1993. They instantly fell in love, and one year later she became pregnant. On December 24, 1999, while the actor was filming The Matrix, Ava Archer Symes-Reeves was stillborn. The grief of losing their child caused a rift between them, and they broke up a few weeks later. In 2001, Jennifer Syme was killed in a car accident. In 2006, Keanu Reeves said:
"Grief changes shape, but it never ends. People have a misconception that you can deal with it and say, 'It's gone, and I'm better.' They're wrong. When the people you love are gone, you're alone. I miss being a part of their lives and them being part of mine. I wonder what the present would be like if they were here-what we might have done together. I miss all the great things that will never be.
Damn it! It's not fair! It's absurd. All you can do is hope that grief will be transformed and, instead of feeling pain and confusion, you will be together again in memory, that there will be solace and pleasure there, not just loss.
Much of my appreciation of life has come through loss. Life is precious. It's worthwhile."
Keanu, we are all very happy for you!
