This Man Went To An Adoption Event And Found His Long-Lost Dog
The puppy immediately recognized him.
Nick Pizio and Shannon McCann had no intention to adopt another dog, as they already had a husky. However, while scrolling down on social media, Nick stumbled upon a post that changed everything. Planned Pethood Inc. was advertizing an adoption event and among the dogs pictured in the post, there was one Nick immediately recognized.
The dog looked exactly like Lucy, a puppy he and his ex-wife had adopted in 2015. After he lost contact with his ex, he also lost track of their dog. Now there she was, up for adoption again.
Nick and Shannon rushed at the event, worried they might miss their chance. "We were both really anxious because we didn't know if she was still at the event," Nick said. "I could sense Nick's anxiety as he frantically scanned the store for the adoption event."
When they arrived at the store, they noticed a group of dogs. Nick immediately locked eyes with Lucy, and she recognized him.
"Lucy recognized him right away," Shannon said. "When she saw Nick, she popped right up and was wagging her tail like crazy and had her face as close to the holes in the crate [where she was being kept] as possible so Nick could touch her."
"When we opened the crate to let her out, she jumped all over him and her tail wouldn't stop," she added.
Nick filled out an adoption application and took her to her forever home, where she now lives happily with her new mom and new sibling, a husky named Kuma.
