Woman Goes To Adopt A Dog from The Shelter And Comes Out With Three
She saved more than three lives that day!
Shelly Blount saw a post about a dog who was about to put down, so she immediately called the shelter in North Carolina. They told her the dog had already been adopted, but it got thinking about other pups who might be in danger. She asked, and was told there was another dog named Caleb who was next on the list.
The woman got in her car, and accompanied by her friend, she drove four hours to rescue Caleb. But when she arrived, she realized there were two other dogs in the same situation. Even though she already three rescue dogs at home, she knew she had to take them.
"I asked the limit on how many you could adopt," Shelly told The Dodo. "They said there wasn't one. So I decided to get all three." So instead of going back home with just Caleb, she left with Charisma and Bella, too.
On their way back home, they must have had an epic road trip, especially since the dogs were all excited.
"Caleb was sooo excited - kept giving kisses from the back seat, and his tail was wagging so fast," Shelly said. "Bella was so content being held so she sat in my friend's lap and literally didn't move. Charisma, my sweet little angel, was literally hugging me and slept the entire ride."
When she decided to go leave the shelter with three dogs, Shelly didn't really have a plan or room for all of them. Luckily, in a few days, she found forever homes for Caleb and Bella.
"Caleb is super happy in his new home with a friend of mine," Shelly said. "She has another Lab who he loves. Bella went to my boyfriend and let's just say they are inseparable."
Charisma got to stay with her, as they really bonded since they met. And to her surprise, after a vet visit, she found out Bella was pregnant. So not only she saved three dogs, but also the lives of five to six puppies.
